Interaction/ Interaction

A 10 minute improvisation based solo performance with Dutch Sign Language and dance.

Interaction/ Interaction

Interaction/ Interaction a short performance about the busy metro life seen from the disabled perspectives of people with disabilities.

I was part of this project as a dancer, specially as a deaf dancer.
The cast was very diverse: we had dancers with and without disabilities, and with and without an academic background. This made the group very unique: we all brought different perspectives to the table.

We performed this piece six times in different theaters in Zuid-Holland.

More information about the choreography:
Monday morning rush hour. A busy station and a crowded subway. There is little space and the blind mows everyone down. Suddenly the subway stops underground... All alarm bells go off and no one knows what to do. Several people, each with their own disabilities, struggle through this thin tunnel of chaos. Who has an eye for each other?

This short performance was created by Barend Elias in the context of the talent development program Teddy's Talents.
